چکیده

This paper proposes a framework for modeling and controlling systems described by interdependent physical laws, logic rules, and operating constraints, denoted as Mixed Logical Dynamical (MLD) systems. These are described by linear dynamic equations subject to linear inequalities involving real and integer variables. MLD systems include constrained linear systems, finite state machines, some classes of discrete event systems, and nonlinear systems which can be approximated by piecewise linear functions. A predictive control scheme is proposed which is able to stabilize MLD systems on desired reference trajectories while fulfilling operating constraints, and possibly take into account previous qualitative knowledge in the form of heuristic rules. Due to the presence of integer variables, the resulting on-line optimization procedures are solved through Mixed Integer Quadratic Programming (MIQP), for which efficient solvers have been recently developed. Some examples and a simulation case study on a complex gas supply system are reported.

Dynamical formation control of wheeled mobile robots based on fuzzy logic

In this paper, the important formation control problem of nonholonomic wheeled mobile robots is investigated via a leader-follower strategy. To this end, the dynamics model of the considered wheeled mobile robot is derived using Lagrange equations of motion. Then, using ADAMS multi-body simulation software, the obtained dynamics of the wheeled system in MATLAB software is verified. After that, ...

Optimal Control via Integrating the Dynamics of Magnetorheological Dampers and Structures

Magnetorheological (MR) dampers have the advantage of being tuned by low voltages. This has attracted many researchers to develop semi-active control of structures in theory and practice. Most of the control strategies first obtain the desired forces of dampers without taking their dynamics into consideration and then determine the input voltages according to those forces. As a result, these st...

Indirect Adaptive Interval Type-2 Fuzzy PI Sliding Mode Control for a Class of Uncertain Nonlinear Systems

Controller design remains an elusive and challenging problem foruncertain nonlinear dynamics. Interval type-2 fuzzy logic systems (IT2FLS) incomparison with type-1 fuzzy logic systems claim to effectively handle systemuncertainties especially in the presence of disturbances and noises, but lack aformal mechanism to guarantee performance. In contrast, adaptive sliding modecontrol (ASMC) provides...

Hybrid Fuzzy-PID Application in Boilers to Obtain Optimum Efficiency

Many real time processes have complex, uncertain and nonlinear dynamics. Boilers are nonlinear, time varying, multi-input multi-output (MIMO) systems, whose states generally vary with operating conditions. The major problem in controlling that system is that its drum water pressure and steam flow dynamics include an integrator that results a critically stable behavior. Conventional controller p...

Dynamics and Motion Control of Wheeled Robotic Systems

Mobile robotic systems, which include a mobile platform with one or more manipulators, mounted at specific locations on the mobile base, are of great interest in a number of applications. In this paper, after thorough kinematic studies on the platform and manipulator motions, a systematic methodology will be presented to obtain the dynamic equations for such systems without violating the base n...

Unit commitment by a fast and new analytical non-iterative method using IPPD table and “λ-logic” algorithm

Many different methods have been presented to solve unit commitment (UC) problem in literature with different advantages and disadvantages. The need for multiple runs, huge computational burden and time, and poor convergence are some of the disadvantages, where are especially considerable in large scale systems. In this paper, a new analytical and non-iterative method is presented to solve UC p...
